Hard techno star Sara Landry is taking her former management company to court in the US. She says they kept using her name and her label's branding after she fired them.
The key facts
- Who is suing: Landry IP LLC, Sara Landry's company
- Who is being sued: Night Night Ltd, which trades as The Night Department, and a related company called Prepare to Flash
- Where: federal court in Manhattan, New York (case 1:26-cv-08813)
- Filed: October 6, 2026
- What she wants: damages and any profits made from her trademarks. No amount has been made public.
Landry's side
Landry signed with The Night Department in 2023, managed by Matthew Verovkins and Harry Glaisher. She ended the relationship in August 2025.
She says the company tried to take 50% ownership of her music and 50% of her label, Hekate Records, without fair payment. After the split, she says they kept using her trademarks, which made it look like they still represented her.
The lawsuit also says Prepare to Flash refused to hand over control of Hekate Records' account with the music distributor Believe.
"Ownership and artists' rights are deeply important to me," Landry told Billboard. "I look forward to continuing to advocate for artists to have control over their work and their careers."
The management company's side
The Night Department disputes her version of events. In July, it sued Landry in the UK, saying she broke her contract by firing them. The company says the ownership terms were always clear and it did nothing to deserve being dismissed. Landry has filed counterclaims in that case.
What's next
Both the US and UK cases are still open. Meanwhile, Landry's second album, Divine Intervention, comes out on October 16 on Hekate Records.
