What we know
BUNT., who was born in Hamburg, describes the album as a story about persistence rather than a victory lap. It follows the risks, mistakes and people he met along the way. The title also answers his 2024 EP, LEVI DON'T DO IT, which was named for the people who doubted him.
Besides the earlier singles Trippin' and Spaces, the record includes a new track called Back to the Start, an upbeat song about how detours can lead somewhere good. The closer, What If You Fly, reworks The Temper Trap's Sweet Disposition. With vocal guests across the tracklist, the album leans toward pop and songwriting as much as production.
BUNT. said he does not mean the title as a boast. In his words, it is about having kept going, and he encouraged listeners to do the same and to be proud of what they have achieved. The Chainsmokers are among the collaborators, and you can read more about them in Chainsmokers Independent: New Label and Single.
The run-up
His rise has not followed the usual dance music route. The 2023 single Clouds took off after a TikTok teaser in December 2022 drew more than 50 million impressions before release. It debuted at No. 15 on Billboard's Hot Electronic Songs chart and has passed 500 million streams.
Across his catalogue BUNT. has logged more than 1.2 billion streams and sold over 400,000 tickets. His first No. 1 at US Dance Radio came with i need u, and Spaces and Clouds both reached the Top 10. Rolling Stone also named him to its Future 25 list for 2026.
This year he made his Coachella debut and played EDC Las Vegas, Austin City Limits, Ultra Croatia, Electric Love, Lollapalooza South America and India, and SonneMondSterne. In New York he sold out Under the K in May and made his Pacha debut about six weeks later, reaching more than 20,000 fans over the two nights. At home in Germany he played to more than 100,000 people, his biggest shows so far.
Why it matters
Many of his shows use an IN THE ROUND format, which puts him in the middle of the crowd instead of on a raised stage. He has also played pop-up sets in places such as a car wash, a barbershop, a London pie shop and a lucha libre arena in Mexico. A debut album gives that live following a full body of work to point to, and it shows where BUNT. is heading as a vocal-driven artist.
