What we know

Good Fortune did not start as a label. Dom Dolla has been running parties under the name for the last few years, and the label grows out of that party brand.

In his announcement, he said that after two decades as a DJ, finding new records that hit hard on a dance floor still excites him more than anything. He described the label as a home where rising artists and established names can work side by side.

About the first single

'DANCE' pairs Australian producer Torren Foot with British singer-songwriter rhys from sticks. It has been highly anticipated, after spending about a year being tested in DJ sets.

Solomun, Peggy Gou and Michael Bibi have all supported the track live, as has Dom Dolla himself. Most recently he played it during his B2B with KETTAMA at Head Trip, Goldenvoice's one-off festival held on the Coachella grounds in Indio, California, in front of a crowd of 90,000.

Why it matters

A personal label gives Dom Dolla a direct way to release the music he champions in his sets, rather than only playing it. Launching with a track that already has backing from several big-name DJs gives Good Fortune a strong start.

His stated plan to mix newcomers with veterans also suggests the label will be open to a wide range of artists. Fans of his parties may now see the same curation carried over into releases.

More details about future releases have not been shared yet. For now, the focus is on 'DANCE' and its arrival on Friday.
