Ultra Japan has issued a firm safety warning banning moshing, circle pits, and other dangerous crowd activity ahead of this weekend's 2026 edition at Tokyo's Odaiba Ultra Park.
In a statement released just hours before the festival's September 19–20 run, organizers said: "For everyone's safety, moshing, circle pits, and other dangerous activities are strictly prohibited." Crowd surfing is also barred within the venue.
The festival warned that anyone who fails to follow staff instructions may be removed from the grounds with no refund issued. Ultra Japan added that it will not be held responsible for injuries or accidents resulting from participation in prohibited activities.
The move follows a broader trend among major festivals tightening crowd-safety rules as mosh pits and circle pits have drawn scrutiny at large-scale electronic music events worldwide.
