Tomorrowland Winter is returning to Alpe d'Huez, with the 2027 edition confirmed for March 20-27. It's become the cold-weather counterpart to the brand's flagship Boom, Belgium event — same production values and lineup depth, just traded for a ski resort instead of a park.

A Different Kind of Festival Trip

Rather than one mainstage and a single day of music, Tomorrowland Winter spreads multiple stages across the mountain, runs DJ sets between ski runs, and turns the village into a nightlife hub once the lifts close for the night. Organizers are pitching it less as a festival with snow attached and more as a full getaway: ski or ride during the day, catch a set on a mountain stage in the afternoon, then head down into Alpe d'Huez itself after dark.

Packages and Planning

Both 7-day and 4-day packages are on offer, with options to bundle the festival ticket, ski pass, and accommodation together or arrange lodging separately across hostels, hotels, and chalets in Alpe d'Huez and neighboring villages. There's also a Discover Paris add-on for anyone looking to stretch the trip into a longer French getaway before heading into the mountains. Ticket sales open in October 2026, but Tomorrowland's full experience simulator is already live, letting people start piecing together accommodation, tickets, and travel ahead of time.

The Terrain

Alpe d'Huez sits inside the Grand Domaine Ski area — over 250 kilometers of slopes and 78 lifts connecting it to Oz-en-Oisans, Auris-en-Oisans, Vaujany, and Villard-Reculas. Known as the 'island in the sun' for its roughly 300 days of annual sunshine, the resort's south-facing slopes run from beginner terrain to La Sarenne, one of the longest ski runs in Europe at 16 kilometers, dropping about 1,450 meters from Pic Blanc. Non-skiers aren't left out either — the mountain stages stay accessible on foot for anyone skipping the slopes entirely.
